Broadcast RF recently returned from Doha in Qatar to launch the official mascot of the Asian Games in Doha. The mascot is called “Orry” and will continue his journey until the games take place in 2006 and is expected to be just as competitive as the Olympic Games in Athens last year.
Out in Qatar, Broadcast RF supplied the organisers with some of Gigawaves latest digital technology and crew for this prestigious event. There was 3 digital radio cameras all complete with diversity receivers which would have walked along with the parade and ended up at the wall where the mascot was to be launched. They also had some back up analogue point to point links, which were not used, as they where for emergency only. The helicopter present had a digital down link from Broadcast RF, which allowed the helicopter to fly all around Doha bay where they could originally not get with the analogue microwave counterpart. They got some great pictures from this helicopter!

The job went perfect with no faults at all. The client was very impressed and Broadcast RF and their crew is hoping to be leaders in the RF supply of the main games in 2006.
