6 x Point to Point Links
On Tuesday 6th July, Broadcast RF supplied a facilities company with extra microwave links and RF engineering crew to cover the Formula One Parade in London. This event was performed to prove that a London Grand Prix event in the future is a great option. The parade happened again with great success for the coverage which was shared pool coverage. Broadcast RF had three camera locations along Regents Street, which performed successfully as the client required.
The three camera positions required six microwave links in total plus engineering talkback. The links needed to be double hopped back to the OB truck located near Trafalgar Square. All cameras had full camera control from the OB truck, the furthest being from one end of Regents Street to the other. The event proved to be a worthwhile exercise, proving to the world that another British Grand Prix in the future could be considered.
