England regained the Ashes with a historic 197 run 5th test victory over their closest rivals Australia to seal a 2-1 victory in the 2009 Ashes series.
Broadcast RF supplied a HD radio camera and a HD wireless link from the Betfair Blimp for the duration of the Ashes series.
After losing 5-0 to Australia in 2007, this victory became extra special mirroring the success of the 2005 Ashes test matches.
Before the series started, England’s top all rounder Freddy Flintoff announced he was to retire at the end of the series due to injuries. The final test at the Oval saw a moment of brilliance from Freddy running out Ricky Ponting which was the final nail in the coffin for Australia. Once Ponting was out, it was simply a matter of time before they were all out and England retained the Ashes.
