Broadcast RF were given the royal stamp of approval with Princes William and Harry along with three Gigawave D-Cams attending the world premiere of the new James Bond thriller Quantum of Solace.

The three digital radio cameras were roving around the square all night taking the stars from their arrival vehicles along the red carpet to meet the Princes.  Pictures were transmitted live to the screens around the square and inside the Empire and Odeon cinemas for the punters to watch.

With nine other radio cameras present and Broadcast RF’s three, the 2.5GHz band was completed almost at breaking point.  With only a limited number of frequencies available, there was not much room for movement.  With back to back frequencies, the channel filters certainly were required to perform their function.

Steve Bonich, Crew 2 stated:

Broadcast RF as always supplied and installed three radio cameras for our requirement for the Bond Quantum of Solace premiere.  The interaction into our OB was carried out in a professional manner with a technical knowledge that is second to none.  We did encounter other users who were close to our schedule frequencies.  This was not a problem however as Nik is over 6ft 4inches – who in their right mind would argue with that!  On a serious note, the radio cameras performed seamlessly considering there was so much RF around the square that night.  Broadcast RF are always on time and in budget and I would highly recommend them to any of our clients.  The MD Arthur is not a bad fisherman either!
