Record numbers took part in the Great Ireland Run in the stunning surroundings of the Phoenix Park on Sunday 6th April 2008. The popular mass participation 10km road running event around of one Europe's most beautiful parks invites runners and joggers of all abilities to Ireland's capital city for the sixth installment of this unique and great event.

Once again Broadcast RF were invited by Outside Broadcast Company Television Mobiles to provide two chase motorbike linked live back to the OB unit.  Unfortunately helicopters are not allowed to hover over Phoenix Park therefore the bikes can only be received on the ground causing all sorts of problems considering this is 10km of RF coverage required.

Year on year Broadcast RF continue to improve the coverage gained from the chase bikes.  This year, Broadcast RF’s chosen solution was to use Link Research equipment with a 16 way ground based diversity system which was automatically switched using Links intelligent ASI switchers at the OB.
