England Win the Ashes
Broadcast RF provided specialist camera company Aerial Camera Systems / Channel 4
with their digital link from the blimp in each test match in the Ashes Series. Pictures were perfect and the director constantly took the shot of the blimp when there were breaks in play.
England finally beat Australia in a series for the first time since 1987
after drawing the final Test at The Oval on Monday.
As a celebration of winning the Ashes for the first time in 18 years, the England teams (both women and men) were paraded through London. Broadcast RF were again on hand to provide a digital helicopter downlink to BBC News and 3 x D-Cam Systems for Neon Broadcast for the pool coverage for the various news channels. The tens of thousands congregated in Trafalgar Square cheered highlights of the exhilarating summer series and interviews with the members of the victorious squad before a rendition of 'Jerusalem' rounded the presentation off. The ceremony followed a 90-minute open-topped parade from Mansion House during which the two buses crawled through thousands of flag-waving fans as crowds built up in a sun-drenched Trafalgar Square.
A huge success for the England Cricket team and Broadcast RF triumph once again
