After having been moved out of India for security reasons this year South Africa hosted the second edition of the Indian Premier League cricket tournament (IPL). This started on the 18th April 2009 in Cape Town with last year’s winners the Rajasthan Royals losing to the Bangalore Royal Challengers and the Mumbai Indians beating the Chennai Super Kings.
